United went to the game fully intent on making amends for the recent defeat to Amboed. It didn’t take them long to race into a two goal lead as Alexander fired past the keeper from distance before Bentley’s shot crashed in off the bar.

Elmsett soon grabbed their third as Dilloway rounded off a wonderful passing move with a delightful finish. Bentley then managed squeeze the ball past the keeper from close range to add the home side’s fourth.

Elmsett’s dominance continued and showed no sign of abating as Tampion’s inch perfect cross was headed home by Dilloway. The sixth goal soon followed as Clarke converted Everett’s corner to score his first goal for the club.

There was just enough time left for Bentley to complete his hat-trick in the first half with another smart finish.

Chances continued to flow in the second half for Elmsett but Amboed managed to grab a consolation. This woke United up from their complacent mood and Dilloway completed his hat-trick with a fierce shot.

With Amboed just wanting the final whistle to come, Alexander finished another well worked Elmsett attack for the home side’s ninth. Scorer then turned provider as Alexander squared the ball to Bentley to dribble the ball into the net as the game finished 10-1.

So Elmsett put in a scintillating performance and look to continue this form as they welcome Shotley Rose to the Shed next Sunday.
