24 Mar 2019 by Samuel Batram

Goal scorers: Daryl Alexander x2, Jack Gage x2

Man of the match: Danny Clarke

Elmsett went into today's game against familiar opposition.
Knowing today would be a tough game, but a game that that the lads needed to win to keep their chances of the title in sight.
Elmsett got off to slow and sluggish start and were lucky not to find themselves a goal behind. Not an entertaining half but elmsett battled well to go in at half time level

Second half began with nothing to choose between the two sides except the card count.
Elmsett managed to take the lead when gagey fizzed in a cross, and daz headed home the opener.
The second goal came from the same two players after a great build up play between the two, daz added the 2nd.
Gagey added a further two, to give elmsett a well deserved second half lead. Game surely over?
But to the bemusement of all the players including the westbourne team, the ref awarded them a penalty.
Warner guessed right and saved the penalty.

With a rare clean sheet looming, the ref awarded westbourne yet another pen.
Ryan Bray the culprit after numerously telling team mates ' don't foul' decided to trip the westbourne player himself.
This time they converted, dinking the ball down the middle.

Next up is Elmsett’s big county cup semi final against Fusilier FC.
