Playford FC 1-4 Elmsett United

Goal scorers: Jacob Tampion, Aidan Bignell, Ben George, Josh Everett

Man of the match: Jacob Tampion

Attendance: 7

Elmsett went into the game looking to put last week's disappointing cup exit behind them at the first opportunity and started well with their pressing instantly putting Playford under pressure.

It didn't take long for United to take a deserved lead as Tampion latched on to Ross Bray's inch perfect pass and calmly slotted past the keeper.

Playford soon levelled as Elmsett failed to deal with a set piece and allowed the home side's forward to lash the ball past Warner from close range.

Undeterred by the equaliser, the blues continued their dominance and some good work from Palmer saw the ball fall to Bignell who fired into the bottom corner from distance.

The lead was extended just before half time as Josh Everett's long throw dropped for George to hit an absolute thunder bastard into the top corner.

As expected Playford tried to find a way back into the game at the beginning of the second half but Elmsett's defence limited them to very few opportunities.

With quarter of an hour left, Playford's goalkeeper attempt at being Sunday's answer to Manuel Neuer backfired as the ball broke for Josh Everett to pass the ball into the empty net to seal the victory.

So after a tough start Elmsett are slowly starting to climb the table and aim to build an unbeaten run as they welcome Sizewell Argyle to The Shed next week.
