Elmsett United 7-2 Sizewell Argyle

27 Oct 2019 by Samuel Batram

Goal scorers: James Vowles x7

Man of the match: James Vowles

Attendance: 15

United welcomed Sizewell to The Shed hoping to build on last week’s victory and got off to the perfect start after some good work down the right from Bignell was finished by Vowles. (This may become a bit repetitive)

It didn’t take long for Vowles to double the lead as he rounded the keeper before slotting home but Sizewell quickly found a goal a back with an unstoppable free kick.

Despite the Sizewell goal, Elmsett continued to dominate and deservedly restored their two goal advantage as Vowles latched on to George’s through ball and completed his hat trick just before half time with a smart finish.

The second half began just as the first did with Vowles grabbing his and Elmsett’s fourth. Sizewell then seized on a rare defensive lapse to score at the back post.

Elmsett soon crushed any hopes their opponents had of a comeback as Vowles, now bored of scoring normal goals, converted Josh Everett’s free kick with his chest.

The blues continued to create plenty of chances and Vowles completed his second hat trick by finishing Isaac Everett’s cross. The scoring was then rounded off in the dying seconds of the game as Ross Bray’s miscued effort fell to Vowles to place his seventh into the bottom corner.

So Elmsett make it two wins on the bounce and aim to make it three in a row as they travel to Taverners next Sunday.
